Open	Effective April 21, 2018: The 3rd Saturday of each month through October. The Monday before each 3rd Saturday, the Landfill will be closed. Please refer to the 2018 Landfill Calendar for the schedule.

The Rutherford County Landfill, not to be confused with the Middle Point Landfill, is the Rutherford County-operated Class III/IV  Landfill.

There is no charge for Rutherford County residences bringing less than one (1) ton per year of  brush from their personal homes with Rutherford County vehicle tags. Once residents have exceeded (1) ton per year, the regular disposal fee will apply. The Rutherford County landfill will charge $30 per ton for any and all vehicles that do not have Rutherford County vehicle tags, all commercial vehicles, and any resident exceeding (1) ton per year.

 

Public Notice:

Starting February 23, 2018, the Rutherford County Landfill will no longer accept construction or demolition materials.

The Rutherford County Landfill will only continue to accept brush and off-the-rim tires. 

The materials not accepted at the Rutherford County Landfill can be taken in small amounts (up-to 2 wheel barrels full) to one of the Recycling Centers (formerly known as Convenience Centers) operated by the Rutherford County Solid Waste Department.

The Rutherford County Landfill also provides disposal of ten (10) off-the-rim car or light truck tires per Rutherford County residence per year at no charge. All additional light passenger tires will be charges $1.00 each and all large tires are charged at the rate of $65.00 per ton.
